Move a lead to another stage

This content is a draft and will not be included in production builds.

Each column on your board is a stage. When a lead arrives in a stage, that stage’s actions run. An action is something the stage does by itself, such as sending an email or adding a task. This article shows you how to move a lead and what to expect after.

  1. In the menu, select Leads. Your board is on the Pipeline tab.
  2. Drag the lead’s card to another column.
  3. Or select the card to open the lead. Under the lead’s name, open the dropdown that shows the current stage and choose a new one.

The move happens right away. There’s no confirm step.

Some actions ask you first:

  • An email set for your review. Read the email and change anything you like. Select Send to send it, Skip email to move the lead without it, or Undo move to put the lead back.
  • A new project for the lead. Check the project name and the rooms, and then select Create project. Select Not yet to decide later.
  • A window titled Close this lead?, when the stage closes leads and asks you for a reason each time. Choose a Reason if you want one, and then select Close lead.
  • The other actions in the new stage run in order, with no further step. Emails set to send automatically go out, and new tasks appear on the card under Tasks.
  • An action with a delay waits its days. So does anything listed after an action that’s waiting on you.
  • Moving a lead into your first stage runs nothing. That stage’s actions run when an inquiry form comes in.
  • If the new stage has an action that moves the lead again, the card lands in the stage it ends in.
  • A closed lead leaves the board. You can find it on the List tab under Closed.
