Change what a stage does

This content is a draft and will not be included in production builds.

An action is something a stage does by itself when a lead arrives, such as sending an email. This article shows you how to add, change, and remove a stage’s actions.

  1. In the menu, select Leads. Your board is on the Pipeline tab.
  2. At the top of the stage’s column, select the three dots (Stage options), and then select Edit actions. A stage with no actions shows Set up actions.
  3. To add an action, select Add an action and choose one:
    • Email a questionnaire
    • Send an email
    • Notify me
    • Add a task
    • Move to a stage
    • Create a project
    • Close the lead
  4. Fill in the action, and then select Done.
  5. To change an action, select it in the list. To take one out, open it and select Remove action. To change the order, drag an action by the grip at its left.
  6. Select Save.
  7. If the stage has leads in it, a window asks who gets the change. Choose Only leads that move in from now on, or the leads already there too. Then select Save changes.
  • Nothing changes until you select Save. If you leave first, we ask whether to save or discard your changes.
  • If you update the leads already in the stage, actions that already ran for them don’t run again.
  • A stage’s name and color save by themselves. Select the name to rename the stage, or select the color dot to pick a new color.
  • To see the actions run, move a lead into the stage. Your first stage is different: its actions run when someone sends your inquiry form.
